Random Facts about Me! Carly! The face behind the business.

Hi Everyone.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year, even though it feels like forever ago now. I thought I would start the new year, with an insight into Me, Carly the person behind the candles.

Random Fact 1: I can’t relax

I try and I try, but for some reason, I can not completely shut off, the only time my brain stops is if I am on holiday, doing some crazy adrenaline thing or exercising so hard I can hardly breathe let alone think!!

Random Fact 2: I love to travel!

My list is never ending, there are so many more places that I would like to see. I love far flung destinations (even though I hate flying), I love road trips, exploring the UK, and city breaks.

Random Fact 3: I always double check the doors

I have been known to get up in the middle of the night to triple check in some cases and these aren’t always external doors either, I get up to check that the bathroom door is closed, that the door to my workshop is locked.

Random Fact 4:I love Adrenaline and pushing my boundaries

Something that really gets my adrenaline pumping and clears my head is my absolute favourite, I have skydived over Queenstown in New Zealand, I have been caving in various places across the world, I gained my PADI diving license in 2014, been white water rafting, I love to snowboard and I nervously went on the world's largest swing…All to name a few.

Random Fact 5: I rarely brush my hair. It doesn’t really tangle.

This makes me sound like a massive tramp, but my hair really doesn’t tangle and if I brush it too much, it turns into a lion's mane, which is then super hard to control!!

Random Fact 6: I sleep talk

I've been known to sit up in bed (Asleep) and ask my partner why he was standing on the stairs….He was lying in bed next to me!! Creepy hey??

Random Fact 7: I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to film

I can not watch any horrors, gore or anything where you are being watched. I made an Ex turn off one of the Saw films because it was making me sick, I won’t sleep if I have watched a film which people have been stalked or watched…Give me a Rom com or Thriller instead and I am a happy bunny!!

Random Fact 8: I love to cook

I love to experiment and try new things, however I am very fussy, and don’t eat alot of meat. I love to know what goes into my food, so I make a lot of pasta sauces, breaded chicken, curries etc all from scratch.

Random Fact 9: I spent a winter season being a Chalet girl

Back in 2011/12 I decided to pack up and become a chalet girl in Morzine, France. I had a friend who had been and said it would be a great idea, I had never skied or snowboarded before, never been to a snowdome or the Alps before. I got there, got a job and on the first day up the slopes fell over and cracked my wrist…this was me out for a couple of weeks!! I ended up staying out there for 5 months and having the best time.

Now I can not wait to get my hubby and Leo snowboarding in the coming years!!

Random Fact 10: I lived in New Zealand for a year

I travelled around for a few months and then settled in Queenstown, the adventure capital of the world. Amazing, on my days off I would hike the mountains, go snowboarding, cycling and generally explore. I had my ups and downs during this year but it has helped build me into the human I am today!! (If it was closer I would totally live there too).

If I am honest, reading this back I seem like a mish mash of a person, but I can say I am comfortable in my own skin, I love what I do with my business, love my family and I am happy. I honestly hope you all are too.
